  • "The Battle of New Orleans" was originally written and recorded by Jimmy Driftwood, but Horton's version is the one in the Grammy Hall of Fame.
  • Dwight Yoakam did this to "Honky Tonk Man".
• Parody Displacement: Many now only recognize "The Battle of New Orleans" from its many parodies, starting with Homer & Jethro's "The Battle of Kookamonga" the same year the original came out.
