He is simultaneously "the main patient, the head psychiatrist, the chief tester as well as testee of experimental drugs, and the captain of the security guard" of Begfat, the asylum he founded.
• One-Scene Wonder: Zulkeh and Shelyid are traveling through some woods on a coach when a large pack of Snarls appears, accompanied by a mysterious unnamed woman clad entirely in bronze armor. She and Zulkeh have a brief conversation where she offers a few cryptic comments and disappears back into the trees, never to be seen again.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Done in-universe, when Ignace details his, Gwendolyn and Grayboar's original life-plans: Gwendolyn would become a singer, and the other two her entourage.. which all got tossed out the window when Gwendolyn accidentally learned about the problems of the dwarves and immediately embarked on her implacable political crusade.
  • Before his passing, Mr. Flint posted a message on his personal website in which he notes that the original plan with the series was to write up to five books, but he had to divert his attention to more marketable work.
