• Badass Decay: He and Davey Boy Smith followed Bret Hart to WCW, where it became painfully obvious how little they had left in the tank and how well Bret and Owen had carried them in WWE.
• Never Live It Down: His legacy was tarnished when it was discovered that in one of Virgil's matches on the forgotten indie circuits of the National Wrestling Conference, Jim came out in disguise under a Klansman cloak as a henchman to Virgil's opponent, and by the end of the match ended up kayfabe lynching and hanging Virgil on the ring ropes. His reputation has never been the same for many wrestling fans, in particular with the hosts of OSW Reviews taking to calling Neidhart "Klanvil" whenever he comes up in discussion.
