  • Cliché Storm: Everything about Bridges.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Carnifex and Sobek are rather popular with the fans, despite how people feel about their species in the Jurassic Park franchise.
  • Epileptic Trees: Who is HS-01? Theories abound from John Hammond, to Ray Arnold, to Muldoon, to Owen/Claire, to Zara, and even to Simon Masrani. For now, his/her identity is unknown.
    • Who is HS-01?!
    • As of chapter 70, the truth has been revealed: HS-01 is none other than John Hammond.
  • Growing the Beard: The story, which some would argue used to be rather naive and reached the levels of whitewashing when it came to Elise (the cringe-worthy Petting Zoo subplot comes to mind) has since become darker and more mature, with realistic consequences from Elise's actions from Jurassic World and more serious antagonists. If one arc had to be picked, it would be the Paintballer arc; while connected to the Petting Zoo plot, the climax shows off Elise's skills to the park as a whole, starting off the ACU storyline and allowing the character of Bridges to be introduced, coinciding with the aforementioned darkening of the story, the introduction of Blake, and the Spinosauruses.
    • The Early-Installment Weirdness is lampshaded by Hart, who makes fun of the pre-beard attitude towards Elise, and how virtually no one punished her for her misdeeds.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: This is a Jurassic World story about a human befriending an Indominus Rex that is believed by others to be a monster. One year later, Bryce Dallas Howard stars in a movie about a human befriending a dragon that is believed by others to be a monster.
    • The character of Bridges - a corrupt businessman with a charismatic facade who commits murder to get his way - is strikingly similar to Mills, the main antagonist of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
    • In Chapter 70, Blue balks at the idea of being a parental figure for a new generation of raptors Owen's interested in having bred; in 2022's Jurassic World Dominion, it's revealed Blue has produced an offspring of her own.
    • Tacet's tendency to be a Mood-Swinger is surprisingly similar to that of the Scorpios rexes from Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Bridges crosses the line when he covers up Blake's murder and shows no regret. Up to this point, he was a nasty piece of work, but had some sympathetic qualities and sincere concern for Sobek. This action removes any and all sympathy for him.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: The Spinosauruses are very popular in the story, and have quickly become mainstays despite how they are commonly seen as The Scrappy due to the controversial Jurassic Park III.
    • Sobek is a particularly on-target example, considering that he is the Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park III.
