  • All Animation Is Disney: A weird case, but some people believe that this short film was made by Pixar. Ironically enough, Disney produced the short this time.
  • Alternate Aesop Interpretation: One could make the case the short's about the value of critical thinking. Had Paul's brain thought through those catastrophic scenarios some more, they probably would have realized that the scenarios were pretty unlikely.
  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Were Paul's bosses weirded out by Paul's awkward behavior, or were they devastated by the reality that their company was so boring that one of their employees apparently didn't want to go to work?
  • Awesome Music: California Loco!
  • Best Known for the Fanservice: More like "Best Known For The Red Haired Woman With GIGANTIC Hips" (See below).
  • Common Knowledge: This short is commonly mistaken for one of the Pixar Shorts, but it was actually produced by Disney. It probably doesn't help that the basic plot is similar to Inside Out (but with organs instead of emotions), or that Paul looks like a younger Carl Fredricksen from Up.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: The red-haired sunglasses seller, despite only having a small role and only appearing in the short's trailer for a few seconds, seems to be the short's popular character, even being the subject of the first batch of Fan Art for the short. This has do to her super exaggerated shaped figurenote  which won her fans from sites like 4chan, Tumblr, and DeviantArt.
  • Older Than They Think: The previews prompted comparison to Inside Out, which premiered the previous year. However, some viewers instead draw comparisons to works Pixar cited as inspirations for Inside Out, such as the WWII Miscellaneous Disney Short Reason and Emotion, and the Epcot attraction Cranium Command.
  • Tear Jerker: Paul deciding not to indulge himself in life out of fear that it will kill him, which leads to him imagining toiling through the rest of his days sad and alone while everyone else has fun and growing into an old man who then inevitably climbs into the coffin he kept dreading of throughout the story. Also, before he chooses to live his life to the fullest, his heart was so upset at his joylessness that it had to be consoled by the other organs.
