YMMV / Injustice vs. Masters of the Universe

Go To

  • Catharsis Factor: In both the Injustice games and comics, Wonder Woman is considered one of the most reviled versions of the character to exist for being more brutal and heartless than the real one. She finally gets her just deserts when impaled by Teela. While she survives at the end, she is locked up in a cell alongside Evil-Lyn, who she hates, making it no less karmic than if she had outright died.
  • Complete Monster: See here or here.
  • Funny Moments:
    • When He-Man is confused about the concept of a "reporter", Zatanna (who's had her eyes on him for some time) offers her help to... explain. Teela's expression is priceless.
    • Starfire, after seeing the friendship struck up between Swamp Thing and Mossman expresses a desire for an Eternian companion to explain how their world works. Almost a half dozen of the Masters immediately volunteer.
    • After the Skeletor/Darkseid alliance goes belly up and both sides start fighting, Trap Jaw says he can't believe he left a warm bed and three square meals a day for something like this. What's even better is that he's talking about his imprisonment at Darksmoke Prison!
  • Heartwarming Moments: He-Man saving a suicidal woman who had become despondent thanks to the Regime, before promising her that he WILL free Earth from the Regime and Superman and she must live to see it. Even in a universe as far removed from All-Star Superman as possible, there are still those willing to stop everything just to help one person. At the end, said woman is rewarded with Shazam's power and follows his example becoming a superhero known as Queen Marvel.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • This novelization of Injustice 2 actually toyed with the idea of Cyborg making a Heel–Face Turn and turning against the Regime (there, he found out about the Titans' imprisonment, which drove him to a Heel Realization, and he fought against Superman in the final battle), before this comic decided to follow suit and have Cyborg join the Insurgency.note
    • While hard to tell if it's a hilarious or not. It's an interesting coincidence that Skeletor would also pull an Deliberate Injury Gambit in Masters of the Universe: Revelation, having He-Man impale him with the Sword of Power so he could reveal the Orb that held all the magic of the universe. When Darkseid would also pull a similar trick to a Shazam-powered Skeletor in order to defeat him. Although without the bit of getting the Orb of Power.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Superman has what he wants: the means to access alternate universes and change timelines. He has a chance of making sure Lois won't die to the Joker, and he's happy for a second. And then he discovers that her death is inevitable -- if it's not the Joker, it'll be something just as crappy like a random mugger, a drunk driver, or her tripping on the stairs and snapping her neck. He decides to wipe out the universe and start from scratch, micromanaging everything so it will be completely perfect by his current standards.
