YMMV / Inferno Cop

• Ass Pull: Every episode ends with something you'd normally consider a plot contrivance, but it doesn't detract from the parody-oriented tone of the series.
• Awesome Music: The ending song, Die Hollen Polizei.
• Crazy Is Cool: Really, the entire series runs on this. If anyone had any doubts about Studio TRIGGER...
• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The series is far more popular in America than it is in Japan, most likely due to its over-the-top humor and comic book-inspired aesthetic. When Shigeto Koyama and Hiromi Wakabashi recounted a showing of an exclusive episode at a previous convention, they were confused as to why everyone in the audience was singing along to the ending song since the show mostly went under the radar in Japan.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The scenes of Inferno Cop participating in death races (and his death subplot in general) have become quite a bit sadder after his Japanese voice actor, Juinichi Goto, passed away in a motorcycle accident in 2020.
• Fountain of Memes: For all the same reasons as Axe Cop.
• Friendly Fandoms: For obvious reasons, many Inferno Cop fans get along great with fans of Ghost Rider or Axe Cop. In the latter case, it's not that hard to see them (as many fans do) as even existing in the same universe, but simply covering different jurisdictions.
• Memetic Badass: Inferno Cop is THE savior of anime. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
• Most Wonderful Sound: The various hammy, heavily accented pronunciations of INFERNO COP.
• So Bad, It's Good: Everything about this show is designed to do this deliberately.
