  • Awesome Art: Jazzy, the story artist, periodically post artwork for the story over at their twitter and it's awe-inspiring to look at, to the point that comparing it to cake is pretty much a Running Gag on Jazzy's Retrospring account.
  • Moe: Morgana's depiction as a young hall monitor with a cat motif is utterly adorable.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Akechi's design in the Velvet Room, due to him feeling like he shouldn't be alive, has him be a bloody corpse, with various exposed bones and a missing eye.
  • Ships That Pass in the Night: The Role Swap AU element with Haru taking Joker's place and Ann in Akechi's role brought this with many a reader shipping the two. In canon, beyond being friends, Haru and Ann don't have a lot of inter-personal interactions.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • Makoto's in Futaba's place in this universe, and thus has quite a few tear jerking similarities with her's. Like in canon, her father had died in the line of work… and unlike in canon, Sae suffered the same fate, which was a catalyst for her to become a depressed shut-in. And, unlike Futaba who at least has Sojiro taking care of her, Makoto is completely alone and dying because of it.
    • Ann's backstory is far more sympathetic than Akechi's. Unlike in canon, Shiho succeeds in killing herself due to Kamoshida's actions, and Mishima had suffered the same fate. Because of this, she had become a murderous assassin using the Metaverse to exact her revenge on everyone Kamoshida works with, believing that the Phantom Thieves' ideals are stupid, as shown by this art showing Ann's version of Akechi's breakdown.
Ann: Justice? Righteous?! PLEASE. Where were you when Shiho needed you? When Yuki needed you?! Justice my ass.
  • The Woobie: Makoto has it even worse than Futaba, the person she replaces compared to canon. Both her father and Cool Big Sis have both died during their respective jobs, and while Futaba has Sojiro to support and take care of her, Makoto has no one to do the same, and has a massive risk of dying due to self-neglect.
