• Alternate Aesop Interpretation: In-Universe example with Tom and Harry. When Harry tells Tom that the strongest wizards he fought were halfbloods (ie Snape and Voldemort) like themselves, Harry meant the message to be blood has little to do with one’s power or worth. Tom reads the messages as "Blood has no importance. There’s only power of magic and mind. There’s only power, and those too weak to grasp it."
• Angst? What Angst?: Harry surprisingly doesn't show any angst for virtually leaving the only friends he had and the life he knew to raise someone that grew up to become his worst enemy and still shows psychopathic tendencies. Word of God says this will bite Harry in the ass since he doesn't want to think of what he lost, so he started to overlook his ward's worrying tendencies the more they began to know each other. Harry overlooks it due to being blinded by love. Tom cares for Harry enough to hide his psychopathic tendencies to not disappoint him.
• Jerkass Woobie: Melania Black. She was trapped in a loveless marriage and is eventually murdered by her husband. And she does help warn Harry about her husband before she dies.
• No Yay: Arcturus's creepy obsession with Harry. And what he does to the prostitute.
• Squick: The cat torture is extremely graphic and disgusting.
