• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Lauri has mentioned that his channel is not very well-known in his native Finland- according to "Hydraulic press channel Q&A-video", something like 3% of his channel's total views have been from Finland, compared to 45% from the United States. In addition, he's been interviewed by over twenty websites and newspapers based out of other countries, and only one in Finland, with a small local newspaper in his native Tampere.
• Just Here for Godzilla:
  • Some fans comment that they mostly, if not only, watch the videos for the extra content clay figures at the end.
  • Some say they only watch for Lauri's accent.
• Memetic Badass: Paper. After a deck of playing cards exploded under the press, its properties have been brought up, as has the infamous 'wood of paper' line, in almost every subsequent episode including anything with paper or wood present.
  • Also, standard ball bearings. Instead of fracturing or deforming under a press like you would expect metals to, they instead either ruin the tools by getting embedded in them or explode violently.
• Memetic Mutation:
  • "[x] is extremely dangerous, we must deal with it!"
  • "WHAT THE FUU-UUCK!"
• Nausea Fuel: In "Crushing unhealthy diet with hydraulic press", when a bag of potato chips was pressed, the bag popped and all of the oil on the chips leaked out from under the press head in an opaque, grayish-yellow puddle.
• What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: A number of English-speaking commenters have this reaction whenever Lauri mentions cutting out certain types of content and posting it to his alternate Beyond the Press channel instead, believing it to be too intense for all of the young children who watch his main HPC channel. He's taken requests, almost all of which have come from children under the age of five, for end-of-episode clay animals, despite the fact that he swears up a storm in most videos. One wonders if the parents of those young children just tell them he's actually speaking Finnish whenever he swears.
