  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Akechi's ultimate Persona, Mordred, has gotten a positive reception.
  • He's Just Hiding: A few commenters have felt this way regarding Akechi's death in Chapter 50 of Butterfly Cascade. Chapter 53 reveals he did survive.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The Waking the Dreamer spinoff was written before the author played Royal. As it turns out, the fic was almost a blow-for-blow reenactment of the events of the third semester, with the villain taking control of Mementos to remove free will and create a stagnant "utopia". There's even a couple of minor details like Ushimaru being significantly affected by the changes and the villain being referred to as a "dreamer". The only difference is the identity of the Big Bad.
  • Idiosyncratic Ship Naming: The author refers to the Akira/Akechi ship as Hell Train.
  • Like You Would Really Do It: Some have expressed this sentiment regarding Akechi dying. Chapter 53 reveals they were right.
  • Moment of Awesome: Marie saving Nanako's life.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap:
    • Akira initially hates Makoto in the same way and for the same reasons that the author did when first playing the game. He warms up to her after she joins.
    • Zigzagged with Akechi. While a lot of people like how his character is handled in the story, for some he has only gone from hated to tolerable, while some others skip over his scenes.
  • Ships That Pass in the Night: Minato Arisato/Ryoji Mochizuki plays with this. While certain versions of canon give them more of a relationship them than others, such as the movie quadrilogy and the remake, their only real screen-time together in the original is the Kyoto class trip. Much of basis for the ship in general (including beyond this fanfic) is a result of Persona 3 Portable where Ryoji says he would still like the female MC whether she were a guy or a girl, but even that can still be read as If It's You, It's Okay.
  • That One Level: The author makes their dislike of Okumura's Palace very clear.
  • The Woobie: Goro Akechi has his traumatic backstory expanded upon, making him rather pitiable and sympathetic even after he joins Shido.
