YMMV / Hornswoggle

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Was Hornswoggle the GM the whole time, or did he just steal the laptop that one week? Dylan himself has said that he was at some point planned to be revealed as the GM and change character, though this is contradicted by several decisions the GM made regarding his matches while he was still in the ring.
  • Fanon Discontinuity:
    • As far as many fans are concerned, Hornswoggle was never a part of DX. Ever.
    • Nor, absolutely, the Anonymous Raw General Manager.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Potentially a mix of foreshadowing and hindsight. He was originally billed as Little Bastard, and was later "revealed" to be Vince's "illegitimate son."
  • Moment of Awesome: Undoubtedly the greatest thing Hornswoggle ever did in WWE was the "WeeLC" match he and 3MB put on against El Torito and Los Matadores on the kickoff show of Extreme Rules 2014. The seven men put their heads together and turned a dumb joke into a match that, while still a hilarious comedy match, was genuinely entertaining and featured the best ring work of Hornswoggle's career, as well as some insane spots.
  • Take That, Scrappy!:
    • His email to Michael Cole back when Hornswoggle was still Finlay's projectile. Knowing what Hornswoggle would eventually become, it doubles as Hilarious in Hindsight...or would if WWE did not remove it from their website.
    • The moment El Torito showed up there were posts online saying that now WWE finally had an excuse to get rid of Hornswoggle. While he has stuck around, the haters are happy that Hornswoggle has since lost to El Torito several times.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: When Hornswoggle transformed from a violent short mute Irishman to a Looney Tunes character.
  • X-Pac Heat: Has earned a ton of ire throughout much of his tenure due to WWE frequently using him as a "push button in case of emergency" for many different, often unpopular plotlines. People almost never discuss him in terms of his wrestling or promo ability and more just how he ends up in so many panned decisions, from his inexplicable heel turn, becoming the final cruiserweight champion, being Vince McMahon's "illegitimate son" angle, his feud with Chavo Guerrero, being the Anonymous Raw General Manager, among others.
