  • Awesome Music: Courtesy of Top Gear composer Barry Leitch.
  • Crazy Is Cool: The Francois, a guy doing the splits on a pair of motorcycles. And it even handles like a car!
  • Difficulty Spike: From the 4th Cup onward in the World Tour the game stops holding your hand. The track Pitch Black in particular gives you a taste of what's to come with several sharp turns close to each other and if you're aiming for all Super Trophies getting every Token is a lesson in memorization and patience as they are on said sharp turns that are also going upwards or downwards which forces you to be in the right position to get them.
  • It's Easy, So It Sucks!: The Rookie Series is basically an abridged version of the main World Tour mode except a lot easier. However playing at that mode doesn't grant the regular World Tour unlockables.
  • It's Hard, So It Sucks!: On the other end of the spectrum, some feel that the game, particularly the main World Tour mode, can get far too unforgiving at times for numerous reasons (namely the amount of participating cars are too much, tracks are often very narrow, turns coming at you far too quickly for you to react, the AI being spiteful enough to use their nitrous just to keep you from overtaking them, certain levels in the Adventures mode forcing you to use a car that's not very well suited for the track...).
  • Spiritual Successor: Mainly to Top Gear. The Summer Vibes expansion is one to OutRun, and the Senna Forever expansion is one to Super Monaco GP, complete with a mode-exclusive cockpit camera.
    • The 2023 Compilation Re-release of the Top Gear series by fellow Brazilian developer Qubyte Interactive contains a newly created Retraux crossover called Top Gear Crossroads, which changed the vehicles of the first Top Gear into vehicles of Horizon Chase.
  • Tear Jerker: The mobile version of the game includes a secret Easter Egg if you trace an heart before a race starts. The secret, stylized as an old-school written folklore tale, narrates about Barry background with his life and eventual bonding with his at the time girlfriend Karen, ending with a photo and two wedding rings with the request of marriage. To top it all of, the song that plays in the background, "Secret Proposal", is a carillon rendition of the Vegas theme from the original Top Gear.
    • Word of God made a video in 2022 discussing and showing Aquiris helping him out fullfill this dream, even including the scene where Karen finds out about the secret. Everyone who helped him out at the ending credits of the video includes the line "She Said Yes" as their middle name.
