YMMV / Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (Sega)

Go To

  • Awesome Music: The soundtrack is pretty well done. Standouts are Laguardia Airport, The Streets Of New York, and Duncan's Toy Chest.
  • Goddamned Bats: The Security Guards in the first level serves as a wake-up call in the very first level. They run much faster than you and love to gang up and knock you around. They take a few hits to get rid of (or you can lure them into a spilled puddle, which kills them instantly).
  • Most Wonderful Sound: The whistle that plays when you defeat the more troublesome enemies. Also, the tweeting birds when Harry or Marv are knocked out cold.
  • No Problem with Licensed Games: Good controls. Solid soundtrack. Good graphics. The game gets all the basics right, and thus is an overall fun and decent game, with its only real flaw being that it's a little generic of a platformer. This said, it's generally agreed to be superior to the SNES game, which fell in the other spectrum.
  • That One Level: Duncan's Toy Chest (Stage 4) is a damned maze with a particular hair-pulling section where you have to navigate through a maze of platforms all while being harassed by the flying boxing glove contraption that can knock you off the platforms. There's one specific jump right at the end of the section, and if you miss, Kevin is sent up through the tube and right back to the beginning of the section, and you have to try again. A very annoying and frustrating level.
