  • Goddamned Bats: In the first two games, dashing enemies can be annoying to fight against, especially since the first ones you encounter in both games appear out of nowhere. They have the same health and damage as normal enemies, but they always run around while charging at you, making them hard to hit. Even if you use long-range combos or a pistol in Prison Brawl, they'll dodge your combos/shots and interrupt your attacks quickly. They become less of a hindrance in later games, though, thanks to the introduction of more effective weapons and the comparatively tougher vehicles.
  • Goddamned Boss: The tank from Total War. It's not hard to deal with, but it's essentially the City Dump Truck with its health cranked up to eleven. While the City Dump Truck certainly couldn't be defeated quickly, it still had a reasonable amount of health that could be emptied in about a minute. The tank, on the other hand, takes several minutes to be defeated, which, although not a long time, can get pretty annoying due to the games' rather fast-paced nature with the stages. Its fight can even take more time than any of the comparably harder bosses that come after it.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In Hell, the A-S-S-A combo lets you unleash Hobo's Super Laser Piss
  • Memetic Badass: Hobo has successfully, in order, totaled a dump truck, busted out of prison, became an international threat, brought the downfall of the military, killed the entire crew of an alien mothership and their Hobo clone army, went to Hell and killed Satan, and fought God and won, all while using his bare hands and bodily fluids. Wow.
  • Nausea Fuel: Since they usually involve great amounts of Toilet Humour, especially upon seeing the impact it does upon enemies, a lot of the combos are guaranteed to be this, though the more exaggerated ones like A-S-A-S and S-A-S-A can cross into Crosses the Line Twice territory.
  • Sequel Difficulty Spike:
    • Total War is arguably the hardest game in the series, as most stages from the very beginning constantly put you crowded between multiple enemies with guns and vehicles. Due to the interruptible nature of the more powerful combos like A-S-A-S, S-A-S-A and the newly-introduced S-A-D, the stronger enemies' ranged attacks will force you to use your fists, weapons or weaker combos instead.
    • Space Brawls never crowds you between a bunch of enemies, making it a Sequel Difficulty Drop to Total War, but its status as a Marathon Level where you have to unlock all the previously-introduced combos from the start again can make the situation pretty tough early on, as you can easily get put off by the enemies with the new laser guns without the necessary combos to counter them. The Hobo clones also tend to use combos that you haven't unlocked yet, making the fights against them rather hard at the beginning too.
