• The Woobie: Kousei, as a whole. All three of the accidents that Kousei gets into which leads to his eventual suicide by overdose involved vehicles (his left foot gets crushed as he gets hit by a car in the first accident, and he hits his head on a metal lamp post, the second one had him riding his bicycle and losing his balance before hitting his head on (another) metal lamp post, like the first accident, and the third and final one, the most fatal one, had him getting struck by a bus, which results in him being tossed a few feet into the air, and hitting his head hard on a concrete curb; all these accidents render his brain severely damaged; he becomes an amputee, near deaf, his speech slurred (anything that comes out his mouth comes out as only slow grunts, and he can only communicate via the means of a computer), and just about clinically depressed; a seizure after the third blow leads to his emergency operation). Making all of this more tragic is that Kousei is discovered to have the deadly neurolgoical Crutzfeldt-Jacob disease.
