- Crazy Is Cool:
- Ocelot in Let's Destroy Metal Gear Again!.Ocelot: Shot in the face, you say...
- Taken up to eleven in Broad Spectrum Studios' dub, where he becomes a freaking Jump Scare.Ocelot: Well, hello...
- Ocelot in Let's Destroy Metal Gear Again!.
- Crosses the Line Twice:
- Gigi's reaction to Ghost Trick (expressed through a series of tweets) can best be described as being so amazed by the fact the game out-twisted Professor Layton that they wound up loving it despite it being totally idiotic.
- The moment when the TV announcer mocks Dojima over his wife's death should honestly be utterly despicable, and yet it manages to also be absolutely gut-bustingly hilarious due to the dub's Evil Laughter.
- Fountain of Memes: The Persona 4 comic in particular is likely the most quotable out of all her comics.
- Fridge Brilliance: A common criticism of the Metal Gear series is that it has a very bad Story to Gameplay Ratio. Yahtzee Croshaw, when reviewing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, commented that "So much of the dialogue is redundant and is in dire need of an editor, preferably one armed with waders and pruning shears." This makes conversations such as this, which replaces the Exposition Dump at the beginning of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, utterly hilarious and brilliant:Major Tom: Russians Russians Russians!
- Funny Moments: Hiimdaisy writes Crowning Comics Of Funny
- Harsher in Hindsight: In the Persona 4 comic, after Mitsuo leaves Chie says that they won't see him ever again. While this is meant to be a nod to how he later shows up as the copycat killer in the original game, in retrospect her remark has become rather prophetic, as the comic would be cancelled soon after Rise's dungeon, just a bit before he would have been reintroduced.
- Hilarious in Hindsight:
- In the Persona 4 comic, Shadow Yukiko gets OHKO'd with a simple Bufu when she's not even weak against it. Cue Persona 4 Golden where she is now weak against it.
- The comic mocks the fact that party members will die for you to protect you from an attack the moment you establish their Social Link, i.e. when you barely know them. Come Golden, the same ability is now only accessible at Rank 9 of each Social Link, after you've established a deep relationship with them.
- Also, "Fsteak" was actually said in-game in Golden. Not by Chie sadly, but the fact that "fsteak" shows up in an official Persona game is funny.
- Once you know the true colors of Adachi, this quote is even funnier.Yosuke: Dude, what if the TV is everyone's mind!?
Adachi: [happy face] Speaking of minds, know what's on mine? MURDERS! - Peachi's version of a young Liquid Snake in Let's Destroy the FOX Unit! is pretty hilarious once we meet the real thing in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and he's just as hammy.
- When Let's Destroy the Metal Gear comics were drawn, the Crash Bandicoot series were kind of in an Audience-Alienating Era or just staying dormant, which added humor on Psycho Mantis' comment on Snake playing Crash. Cue 2017, the release of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and the overwhelmingly positive reception of it may make Psycho Mantis want to re-evaluate that comment.
- Dojima used the word "sus" (presumably) as a shorten form of "suspect". Now in the early 2020s, it has become a popular slang for "suspicious" thanks to the game Among Us. Turns out people used it long before the English sub of Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro.
- Ho Yay: In this version of the Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Ocelot decided to "throw in" Raiden's capture being totally in the nude instead of shirtless for fun.
- I Am Not Shazam: The artist of the comics goes by the handle Gigi Digi (formerly Peachi Fruit). Hiimdaisy is the name of the comic.
- Memetic Molester: Her Persona 4 comic is a major driving force behind Igor being one."Hellllllllllllllo. Persona Persona Persona Persona. SOCIAL LINKS SOCIAL LINKS SOCIAL LINKS SOCIAL LINKS SOCIAL LINKS SOCIAL LINKS SOCIAL LINKS!"
- Memetic Mutation: Basically, this comic can generate memes that might not be true for the original works alone. The most notable one is the exploitable "All Right, Gentlemen!"
- Moment of Awesome:
- The Persona 4 MC only has one line of dialogue, and as befits the comic, it's equally hilarious and awesome. It's made especially awesome thanks to its delivery in the dub, with the MC's voice actor sounding almost exactly like Johnny Yong Bosch.MC: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFPersona...!
- Teddie's Pre-Asskicking One-Liner before one-shotting Shadow Rise.Teddie: I'M GOING BEARZERK!!!
- The Persona 4 MC only has one line of dialogue, and as befits the comic, it's equally hilarious and awesome. It's made especially awesome thanks to its delivery in the dub, with the MC's voice actor sounding almost exactly like Johnny Yong Bosch.
- Narm Charm: The very dramatic and James Bond-esque Snake Eater theme, as parodied in ''Let's Destroy the Shagohod!"'
- Nightmare Fuel: Phoenix Wright eating...
- Ema mimicking Kristoph, since at least to Klavier, when she wears her glasses◊, she looks like Kristoph◊.
- Okay, Shadow Teddie can't stop himself from doing this. Between Teddie's horrific squashed appearance after his Heroic Sacrifice against Shadow Rise and Shadow Teddie's last line, he's a bit of a nightmare."Okay, let's get serious. I'm gonna kill everyone in this room."
- "SOCIAL LINKS SOCIAL LINKS SOCIAL LINKS SOCIAL LINKS SOCIAL LINKS!"
- Mitsuo's brief appearance in the Persona 4 comic is a bit jarring because of his Creepy Monotone, creepy stare, and unsettling music in the background in the dub.Mitsuo: Hhhhhiiii Yukiiiii... (...) Do you want to be my loverrrrrr?
- Adachi starts to become a bit disturbing as the comic progresses and his darker side starts to slip out. It makes you think how much worse he would have gotten if the comic had continued...
Dojima: We need to find a new lead before the killer's trail goes stone cold.
Adachi, wearing a huge Slasher Smile: Like your dead wife?- "What did Porky do?! Lucas couldn't stop crying!"
- Older Than They Think: The Boss' bad pun (about how when The End wakes up, it'll be 'The End' for Naked Snake) is actually not a Hiimdaisy original line, it was taken straight from the game itself (with some small modifications).
- Retroactive Recognition: Certain fandubs of these comics starred voice actors who would eventually go on to be professionals.
- SwardVA's fandub of Ryojiventures had starred actors under Internet Pseudonyms who fans might recognize today in popular anime or video games.
- Ryoji, Fuuka, and the Narrator were played by SonicMega, better known as Sean Chiplock, who would go on to voice Revali in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Diluc Ragnvindr in Genshin Impact, and, funnily enough, Mishima Yuuki in Persona 5.
- Junpei, Koromaru, Igor, and the children are played by Austin Lee Matthews, under the pseudonym of AMTRAX. He was the voice of Roche in Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Professor Sycamore in Pokémon Evolutions, among others. Hilariously, Matthews would play Hidetoshi Odagiri in Persona 3 Reload, a remake of Persona 3.
- Sapphire's fandubs of Hiimdaisy's comics also had a variety of actors under pseudonyms who would have their own careers in various mediums. These include Lucien Dodge, Chris Guerrero, Arin Hanson, Justin Briner, and Edwyn Tiong.
- SwardVA's fandub of Ryojiventures had starred actors under Internet Pseudonyms who fans might recognize today in popular anime or video games.
- So Bad, It's Good: The aforementioned Fan Vid's dubbing of Yukiko is delivered in a really nasal voice by the guy who voices Yosuke, but it was intentionally so bad that it becomes hilarious when you think about it...
- Though by the 3rd part, there is The Other Darrin for Yukiko's voice, now an actual girl. That nasal voice goes to become her Shadow's voice.
- Tear Jerker:
- While it's obviously played for comedy, Snake's reactions to The Boss' defection in Let's Destroy the Shagohod! sometimes come off as this due to how pathetic and depressed he acts about it. This is made more obvious in the Broad Spectrum dub due to Snake's voice acting.Snake: (pointing a gun at The Boss and crying) Boss I'm gonna shoot you I'm serious don't push me!
- Later:Snake: (tearing up) The Boss just broke my gun Major I can't do this!
- The Broad Spectrum adaptation of Let's Destroy The Shagohod! managed to actually be kind of sad when the Boss revealed everything.Boss: The Philosophers want war to go on forever, and my dad was one of them!
Flashback!Boss: Daddy, I want to go home. - The ways the scenes during The Boss' death depicted is quite poignant. Even Hiimdaisy can't make a funny scene out of this.Comic Text: THIS IS A SAD SCENE YOU SHOULD BE CRYING
- Thanks to editing in the Broad Spectrum Studios version, Let's Defeat The Fox Unit! has Johnny's death.
- While it's obviously played for comedy, Snake's reactions to The Boss' defection in Let's Destroy the Shagohod! sometimes come off as this due to how pathetic and depressed he acts about it. This is made more obvious in the Broad Spectrum dub due to Snake's voice acting.
- The Woobie:
- Nanako is already this in the game, but Hiimdaisy punts it up to eleven.Nanako: When Dad's busy at work, I sing the Junes song over and over to make myself feel less alone! 'Every day's great... a-at your... J-j-j—'
- Otacon gets a few extra woobie points as well.Otacon: Hey, can I tell you the reason I got into science in the first place?
Snake: Don't really care, but go ahead.
Otacon: I wanted to build giant robots like the ones in Japanese cartoons.
Snake: That's...unbelievably pathetic.
Otacon: Oh. ._. - Poor Raiden who has the dubious honor of being the Only Sane Man in the most infamous Mind Screw game of the series.Raiden: Rose! You do exist?
Rose: Maybe!
Raiden: What? What does that even mean? What about the thing with the Patriots? Did any of this actually happen? Was I just hallucinating? Wait, why are we zooming out? Is this the end? Why isn't anyone answering my questions? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
- Nanako is already this in the game, but Hiimdaisy punts it up to eleven.
