- Awesome Music: Ric Sandler's soundtrack he composed for the movie is a refreshing '80s take on usual '50s inspired songs.
- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The movie opens with a strange scene of a talking trashcan and a talking pile of trash discussing about religion. Once the scene is over, they don't show up ever again.
- Captain Obvious Reveal: The Reveal at the end, that the middle-aged woman and man who are telling the story are actually Roz and Vinnie in present day, isn't really much of a shocker.
- Cult Classic: Like all of Ralph Bakshi's works, Hey Good Lookin' developed a cult following of its very own. Quentin Tarantino himself said that he prefers this film over Heavy Traffic.
- Memetic Mutation: In late August-early September of 2022, Sped-up clips of the movie set to Ummet Ozcan's "Xanadu" were trendy on TikTok for a bit, often accompanied by the caption of "COOL GUY" with a focus on Vinnie. Alternatively, footage of people adjusting shirt/jacket collars and slicking back their hair like him.
