• Bile Fascination: The movie became commentary and reaction youtubers go-to content source for the movie's bad acting and being overall quite forgettable.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Padgett, Quinn, and Alden all react with shock at walking in on Jordan having sex with another girl, with the revelation (as well as Jordan's penis) being captured on Padgett's livestream. Not long after He's All That was released, a sex tape featuring Peyton Meyer was leaked online, with plenty of people having similarly shocked reactions.
• Hollywood Homely: Who said that Tanner Buchanan is ugly or unkempt?
• Special Effects Failure: Occurs at least twice:
  • During a party scene, part of Padgett's arm disappears as she dances.
  • As Padgett hands out flyers, in the far shot she is visibly holding paper and handing said paper out. In the close-up shot, there are clearly no flyers in her hand or is she actually handing any out; she still makes the motion of doing so and the sound effect is still there.
• Squick:
  • Padgett blowing a snot bubble, causing her to become a laughing stock on social media and at school.
  • Padgett and Cameron bonding by throwing horse dung at each other... Ew...
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic:
  • Much like the original film's Laney, Cameron is supposed to be a Troubled, but Cute outcast that a shallow high school picks on. Except most of the bullying incidents occur offscreen, and the ones that we do see show Cameron antagonizing Jordan Van Draanen and the latter retaliating. While Jordan is no doubt a Jerkass, Cameron doesn't come off as any less shallow, with his jabs about being anti-conformist quickly getting annoying.
  • Padgett, as well, comes across as a bit of an ungrateful brat by being so ashamed of being "poor" despite her mother's efforts to keep a roof over her head. She also tries to get Brin to help her by appealing to their "shared losses." Those losses? Brin's mother passed away and her father ran off to Europe, whereas Padgett...lost her sponsorship. Yeah, totally the same, Padgett.
