- Creator Backlash: Despite official claims that Artix Entertainment still maintains the game, their actual behavior towards any mention of it ranges from ignoring said comments to seething contempt for former players. In fact, the game has never been maintained since 2012, and its design notes abandoned entirely after 2015. Even with their official approval of reviving Oversoul, no equivalent plan will ever be approved for Herosmash. As the game is no longer available to play in any form since October 2021, and discussion of the game is practically nonexistent on the web beyond criticism, Artix Entertainment has successfully buried it.

- That One Boss: Momma Chuds has remarkably high HP, plus her attacks can hit for massive damage. Ouch.
- In recently-updated Friday the 13th events, the Alligator Man has significantly gotten MUCH tougher to deal with than in the first one that happened in Hero Smash. The huge damage it now deals doesn't help, either.
