- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: In "Baby's On Fire," the last verse mentions Juanita and Juan, who sell "secondhand tobaccoes," disconnected from the rest of the song.
- Values Dissonance: "The Paw Paw Negro Blowtorch" refers to A.W. Underwood, an African-American man from Michigan who could supposedly breathe fire. Calling a Black man a "Negro" was fairly commonplace in the UK at the time, but in the US it was already being recognized as a racist epithet; later on, the knowledge would eventually carry over to British audiences as well.
