• Fridge Logic: How the hell was the purgatorial afterlife filmed, and how was that footage retrieved ? Ditto for the cameras used in the climactic showdown.
  • Because physically it was still located in the Abaddon Hotel.
• Special Effects Failure:
  • The clown mannequins were displaced before filming, so actors Danny Bellini (Alex) and Jared Hacker (Tony) wore the costumes and stayed motionless for the shots that the clowns appeared in. On the first run-in with the clowns, one of the actor's eyes is clearly visible through the mask.
  • There were quite a few scenes where you could clearly see that Russell's scar is fake. Especially noticeable when he is outside.
• Viewers Are Morons: Whenever a room, item or person from the first two films is referenced, this film insists on cutting back to short recaps of those previous events. Sometimes, these recaps are split-second blips to show that the current person holding the camera is in the same room or looking at the same person.
