- Awesome Music: Continuing the trend set by the previous movie, we have "Buried Alive" by Billy Idol, "Missing Time" by MDFMK, "Alcoholocaust" by Machine Head, and "Immortally Insane" by Pantera.
- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Chartog, the so-called guardian of the Red River, is an hideous perverted green-skinned humanoid who makes believe to Julie that he knows a way to cross the molten lava and going to Shantaar in exchange for a kiss. After Julie finds out that was an excuse to seduce her, she reacts violently by punching him in his face while falling into the lava. This is never mentioned again for the rest of the movie, likely because Julie was so disgusted by that.
- Harsher in Hindsight: The scenes of Julie being hit in the head have become very hard to watch ever since Julie Strain passed away on January 10th, 2021, due to complications from dementia caused by a brain damaging horse-riding accident incurred during her 20s.
- Older Than They Think: The character was named Tyler in the original miniseries the movie was adapted from, The Melting Pot, over ten years before the movie's production.
- Special Effects Failure: The explosion effects don't quite integrate well within the scenes, instead looking more like stock gifs.
