• It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: A common complaint for much of this author's work is that despite Lily being around, the foundations and substance of the story isn't necessarily as different as some think it could be.
• Ship-to-Ship Combat: In one of the most combative fandoms ever, you better believe that people are already taking shots on what ships for Harry should have. What's interesting about the fic is that the author isn't afraid to throw some unusual ships into the mix for people to see too.
• Ships That Pass in the Night: The Harry/Susan ship could be seen as this. They barely interacted in the books proper, and they literally ran into each other on accident to start a romance with each other in the fic.
