  • Ass Pull: The notorious Twist Ending. Apparently, the director thought the ending originally written (where Virginia really was the killer all along) was too predictable, so a new one was written after almost all of the rest of the movie was filmed. This is one reason why it makes so little sense.
  • Nausea Fuel: The brain surgery sequence. The filmmakers wanted to ensure it was realistic, so they hired an actual brain surgeon to play the one in the film.
  • Poor Man's Substitute: It's pretty obvious that television composer Lance Rubin just like his last horror film outing Motel Hell is trying to emulate Jerry Goldsmith in his score for the 1981 film.
