- Growing the Beard: Very early entries (as in the strips that apparently pre-date the website) seemed a bit brash when modern religion was brought up. Now the author is notable for how respectfully she handles the topic without losing any of the humor, and how well she refrains from devolving into author tract.
- Friendly Fandoms: There is a lot of fandom overlap with Hark! A Vagrant, which does to history/literature what Happle Tea does to mythology.
