• Awesome Art: The oneshots have much more detail as Tribbetherium is able to put more time into making them compared to the normal entries and almost resemble oil paintings with how good they look.
• Funny Moments: Poo, Glorious Poo: The Boldmarks and the Poo-Poo Tree. An important cultural song all about taking a dump.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • The Matriarch Warmonger from Serina has quite a number of similarities with Pi-pipipupu, notably being an old one-eyed alpha female of a violent and genocidal race who eventually loses their remaining eye and, blinded, wounded and defenseless, is abandoned by their army to eventually be devoured alive by scavengers.
  • One of the sapient species to develop on Serina, the woolly wumpo, is a wise, bipedal omnivore with an elephant-like trunk that uses branches as weapons against dog-like predators, making them similar to the splintsters. Both species even go extinct thanks to small, aggressive predators that use fire to hunt their prey, albeit unintentionally in the wumpo's case.
  • On the onset of the a study on genetically modified hamsters becoming aggressive, both the author and the fanbase quickly noted how the harmsters predicted this.
• Moral Event Horizon: The harmsters crossed it early on when they exterminated the innocent splintsters, and their atrocities against their own kind just took them even further down that route.
• Nightmare Retardant:
  • The plague that wiped out the harmsters is a horrific contagious cancerous disease that grows all over their faces, rots their flesh, and basically turns them into a Technically-Living Zombie...and it's known as... NO-SIHTT.
  • The sarchon, a giant armoured apex predator, sounds like it should be Nightmare Fuel (and it is), but its tempered by being surprisingly docile and even sleeping when not hunting, which doesn't happen much (hunting).
• Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: The original sketches were so nihilistic that even Tribbetherium himself regretted the central theme and promised to make it more optimistic. All of the sapient hamster species — not just the Harmsters, all of them — all die out without ever colonising space, either from ignoble natural causes or by their own hands. It all culminates in a Downer Ending where the final sapient race, the Mousey Micks, cause their own extinction via climate change, overpopulation, and nuclear war — and in the process, they permanently damage the planet’s atmosphere, causing a runaway greenhouse effect that eventually causes the final extinction of all life.
• Ugly Cute:
  • The bipedal, trunked walkabies of Late Therocene Fissor are so comical-looking as to be endearing.
  • The stub-tailed panthster cubs in this illustration◊ look like fanged, beady-eyed potatoes.
  • The northhound and southhound pups have a very similar appearance to the above mentioned cubs with the addition of being more expressive.
  • The pink eldriphant is a troglofaunal organism with no eyes, multiple legs, long facial tentacles and pink veiny skin but it's described as a social creature that cares for its young. The picture even shows an adult accompanied by several of its offspring.
• Woobie Species:
  • The splintsters. The second sapient species to arise on HP-02017, they barely make it past Neanderthal-level civilization before they are mercilessly exterminated by the harmsters for the sole reason of looking "ugly".
  • The white-eyes, who are ostracized by the other southhounds for their strange uncanny appearances and unsettling silence but are no less intelligent, empathetic and artistic beings.
