  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Este is good for these:
    • In the music video for "My Song 5", which is a homage to 1990s Trash TV talk shows, Este appears as a guest who confesses her sexual attraction to mimes.
    • In the music video for "The Steps", Este tumbles sideways into a swimming pool for no apparent reason.
    • She even does this in other artists music videos, such as when she cracks someone over the head with a pool cue in the video for Chromeo's "Old 45s".
    • She delivered quite a few in live performances as well, such as the time she took off her dress and ran across the front of the stage, or when she stumbled and fell off the front of the stage when singing backup vocals for Thundercat.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff:
    • They're more popular in the UK and Australia than at home in the United States, where they're still generally relegated to college radio. This was really showcased with how they celebrated the 10th anniversary of Days Are Gone - in the United Kingdom they did a major promotional blitz and multiple sold-out concerts dedicated to playing the album from cover to cover, while in the US they only did some small promotional stunts (such as Este hiding autographed posters in record stores around Los Angeles) and a couple concerts in southern California.
    • They're pretty popular in Brazil, where during their most recent tour they played to the kinds of crowds they otherwise only see when supporting Taylor Swift.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • The faces Este makes while performing became an internet meme early within their careers and actually helped give them exposure.
    • "Haim invented walking." This is due to the fact that starting with the music video for "Want You Back", a large number of their music videos have involved the sisters walking down L.A. streets.
  • Moment of Awesome:
    • Haim covering Adam Sandler's "The Chanukah Song"
    • And then Este's swipe at the rise of far-right politics in the region at the end of the song, "We love you UK! Hopefully we'll still be allowed in the country after this song comes out...."
  • Signature Song: "The Wire" was their best known song, at least until Women in Music Part III.
  • Sophomore Slump: Something to Tell You was generally regarded as So OK, It's Average by critics, with the release of Women in Music Part III cementing its status as their weakest album.
  • Spiritual Successor:
    • They're often hyped as pop-era Fleetwood Mac's successors. Stevie Nicks apparently approves!
    • They're also compared to early 1990s pop group Wilson Phillips, another all-female trio that frequently utilized vocal harmonies and two of its membersnote  were sisters.
  • Win Back the Crowd: Something to Tell You underwhelmed audiences and critics alike, with some suggesting that Haim was on the way to becoming a One-Hit Wonder that would never escape the shadow of their debut album. Not only did Women in Music Part III refute this idea and allow them to recapture the public's interest, it won newfound respect from critics that had previously eluded them. It is their best reviewed album to date and their first to receive consideration from the Grammys.note
