• Alternative Character Interpretation:
  • Is the Player deliberately sadistic, or do they not understand the full ramifications of their actions and the degree of the mercs' sentience?
  • In hl2 2010-10-25 14-49-44-34, is the mutated Spy crashing into the mirror to escape, or are they horrified at their form and trying to break the mirror and perhaps kill themselves by doing so?
  • In engineer land the narrator states that the mercs have worked too hard and are in need of recreation which the Engineer seems happy to provide with a trip to the titular theme park, however when he starts to arrive the Medic can be seen putting a terrified expression upon hearing him arrive and at multiple times in the park the mercs look away from Engineer, most blatantly is that the Medic and Heavy seen in hl2 2010-10-25 14-49-44-34 are also here and appear to be as terrified as they were before. Implying that it's quite the opposite of what's being told.
• Common Knowledge: Largely thanks to YouTubers who have covered the series, it has led to the idea that this is an Alternate Reality Game, to the point these kinds of videos have become known as "G-Mod ARGs". However, there is no indication that gunslingerpro2009 is an ARG in any way; it is a collection of videos with no audience participation whatsoever.
• Memetic Badass: Meme videos depicting the Player as a gun-toting badass who brutally maims and dismembers rumored "scary" Garry's Mod characters or haunted video game characters like Ben have become popular.
• Nightmare Fuel: Has its own page.
• Once Original, Now Common: This series was among the first Garry's Mod horror series, and played a major role in establishing the "Source Engine horror" community and establishing many of its common tropes. Since then, many other works have taken the ideas and crafted a more focused narrative around them, which can make gunslingerpro2009 feel a lot more crude and basic in comparison.
