- Audience-Alienating Premise: A movie based on something like Gummibär, an internet sensation who by the time was losing mainstream popularity doesn't exactly appeal to many people. Not helping is the fact that the plot is the Cliché of "X Saves Christmas" and the bad animation.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: Kala is the character who gets the most fanart of this movie.
- Fridge Brilliance: Vampiro's love for juice makes sense as he's a fruit bat.
- Just Here for Godzilla: Many children only watch this movie because of the Gummibär songs, which even the DVD cover says that includes the popular "I Am A Gummy Bear" song. Unfortunately, many of them are cut off before finishing.
- Padding: There's a lot of unnecessary scenes in this movie such as Gummy's Dream Intro, the scene where Gummy takes the elves for a ride, and the scene where Gummy and Santa are trying to catch a fish.
- Special Effect Failure:
- The CG animation is so bad, that makes the original Gummibär music videos from the 2000s look like Pixar.
- The scene where Vampiro flies to check the island where the plane crashed is very obviously looped, which gives the impression that the animators only animated half of the shot.
- It's hard to see, but in one scene, the camera clips through the plane's model for a few frames. You can slow down the scene to see it better.
- Tainted by the Preview: Many people were already turned off by the first trailer, knowing that it would a cheap Direct to Video film about "Saving Christmas", while other people were mocking the fact that Gummibär, off all the things, got a movie.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Some people don't like that Gummy Bear's Non-Singing Voice sounds like a child and would prefer that he kept his high-pitched voice when he speaks normally.
- What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: There is a scene in which several reindeer drink alcohol and gamble. Also, Kala's design looks a bit sexualized for a kids movie.
