YMMV / Guardians of Pokémon

Go To

  • Arc Fatigue: The "giving up as an April Fool's joke" is used, and the former Trope Namer "Are We Still On Namek" is referenced:
Brock: If we're lucky, those five minutes will last 10 episodes!
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The little girl who wants to be a superhero in the third movie.
  • Funny Moments: The Guardians acting like the Pokémon Center was their home in Chapter 140.
    • "Hi, my name is... Hi..."
    • "Okay, Jirachi! Our third wish is to… Ultra Psychic Ball!" "Great Steel Ball!" "Combine!"
    • In Chapter 90, Bigu trying to threaten Delia by going "I'll give you some plants..." and Delia simply responding with "Oh, that would be nice of you to do that."
    • Chapter 91: All of the Natu chase, being a reference to Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner.
  • Heartwarming Moments: The third movie is loaded with them. Jessie and James' perfect score on the dating game; Tracey and Chibi's arrival at the motel, Katana's wish not focusing on her crush on Ritchie...
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The chapter in which the player character from the second-generation games is introduced is called "Heart of Gold". Five years later, the second-generation games are remade...
  • Ho Yay: Poor Katana...it seems like she really liked Katori...
    • Oh yeah. Most of the Guardians' wishes involved trying to make someone else like them, and based on previous chapters, Katana's unrequited love for Ritchie was one of the more serious cases. Instead, she says she'd use her wish to bring Katori back from the side of evil.
  • Moe: Chibi. It's even stated in the bios that as the youngest guardian, "she carries the obligation to be as cute as possible".
  • The Woobie: Dash. Most of the team insults him, calling him an idiot most of the time (granted, he kind of is, but that's not the point), and recently he's had two girls express interest in him...the first of which turned out to already be married and the second of which is an Evil Guardian.
