  • Alternate Character Interpretation: The Gray-and-Gray Morality of the setting means that any character that isn't Obviously Evil can be open to this - nobody in Etharis is completely good, but it's up to you to decide exactly how bad any of them are. For instance: Burach is nominally ruled by their child-emperor, but the real power lies with the Pope; the campaign guide says that he dotes on the young ruler like a surrogate son, but is often accused of only using him as a puppet to keep the Church in power. How true either view is is left open to the DM's discretion.
  • Fridge Brilliance: The two trailers for the two kickstarters are vastly different in theme and tone. This makes perfect sense when you consider the books they are made for; The first trailer is all doom and gloom, which fits because it's for the Campaign Guide, meant to help the Game Master build a Dark Fantasy world full of despair and ripe for adventuring. The second trailer starts out doom and gloom, but at the end takes a turn to the hopeful and heroic, which fits because the trailer is for the player's guide, which is meant to help players make heroes to save this dark world.
  • Moment of Awesome:
    • The Campaign guide recounts a time when the Soman nobility got particularly angry at the Order of Dawn, and sent an entire army of their undead horrors to destroy them. After a siege that lasted for days, a letter arrived to the nobles, sent by the Order's leader. "Send more vampires."
    • In the trailer for the player's guide, a father finds that his daughter is kidnapped by a monster, a mage is nearly killed by the inquisition and a couple soldiers are hopelessly besieged by zombies. Then, the narrator drops her cape to reveal she is a Seraph, and the tide turns; The mage breaks out, throwing fire on the inquisitors and shielding the kind people who tried to protect her, the soldiers get a second wind, battling the undead with the Seraph at their back, and the father takes up an axe and runs into the woods to save his little girl.
    I'm coming, Arabelle.
