• Magnificent Bastard: "Richard Gladwell"—real name unknown—is a freelance professional assassin who works for both sides of a gang war between Gotham Mob Bosses Carmine Falcone and Sal Maroni, having previously killed a civilian and assumed his identity. Introduced posing as a constituent, Gladwell tricks a councilman in Falcone's pocket and the latter's aide into letting their guard down before killing them with a telescoping spike of his own design. Later burning a councilman in cahoots with Maroni, Gladwell proceeds to attempt the Mayor's assassination, nearly succeeding before being shot by Detectives Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock.
