  • Broken Base: Which are better? The humor-centric seasons 1 and 2, or the more serious story-driven season 3.
  • Fair for Its Day: The reveal that The character of Detective Reesdale is a trans woman. Although the plot leads to several instances where Batgirl misgenders her (although one of those allows her to expose Robot Commissioner Gordon as an imposter), Reesdale proves to be a useful ally whose trans identity is generally treated with respect, which earned some positive recognition for the story when it was rediscovered during the 2020s.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Dora believed Nora should’ve died in peace, out of mercy for her sister - but Freeze was determined to save the latter, regardless of the consequences. Come Batman: The Adventures Continue and you find that Nora had died of the same illness after living for only a few years. Maybe Victor should’ve listened to his sister-in-law about euthanizing Nora after all.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Now in the mainstream comics is Mrs. Freeze.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Dora Smithy, if you think about it. She and her sister were very close before Victor came into their life. At first, Dora tried to be happy for the married couple - until Nora fallen ill. Dora believed that since the illness was terminal, she wanted her sister to die in peace so Nora wouldn’t suffer anymore. But Victor was too stubborn and determined to save his wife, which strengthens Dora’s resentment towards her ex-brother in law for her beloved sister’s suffering. Now think about how Dora would’ve reacted when Nora actually died from the same illness that plagued her once again after living only for a few years.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: Those who wish to own as much of the DCAU as possible on home video bought the Birds of Prey (2002) DVD set, even if they didn't care for the live-action series itself, just because this series in its entirety is also included as a bonus feature.
  • Les Yay:
    • Harley and Ivy, obviously.
    • There is also the episode where Batgirl, having been turned into a cat, finds herself on Catwoman's lap and enjoys being petted. Les Yay level briefly shoots through the roof when she regains her normal form.
    • In that same episode (Episode 2: Lap Bat), after you interact with the mouse, you'll hear this:
Batgirl: [thinking] She's never this nice to me. Most of the time - ooooh. Oooooooohh yeeeah, right behind the ear. Scratch behind the ear. Behind the ear, woman!
    • Harley even says, "you're goin' legit, huh?" when she asks why Ivy's holding flowers and she says, "Batgirl."
    • "Gotham Noir", which begins with Catwoman entering Harley's office as the Femme Fatale.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Greenway's order to have Catwoman, Harley and Ivy beaten up in prison after she has to step down after Commissioner Gordon's return is the moment when she becomes irredeemable. Thankfully, the three escape.
  • Special Effects Failure: The animation of the first season looked rather choppy, which certainly dates this series to early web animation.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Sadly, they created Ms. Freeze just in time for the show to stop. However, considering she has the voice actress and pretty much the same features as Killer Frost in her Justice League appearances, it is easy to Wild Mass Guess it as the Start of Darkness for a fan favorite DCAU character that would not otherwise have an origin.
  • Vindicated by History: After the release of the just as good Harley Quinn (2019) cartoon, DC fans looked back at this for giving Harley some spotlight. It even had a good representation of a transgender woman during the third season.
  • What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: It uses one instance of "hell" in the second episode and has some Demographically Inappropriate Humor.
