• Funny Moments: Lucario tries to open a twist-top bottle clockwise. He does eventually get it open, but...
• Heartwarming Moments: A few places, but notably the ending.
• Goddamn Bats: The Golbat in chapter 1 and chapters 7 and 8. It is Pokémon, and they are in a cave.
• Moment of Awesome:
  • The final battle, where Lucario goes up in the air and jumps from Golbat to Golbat while delivering karate kicks, Luxray zaps and chews on assorted bats, Flareon unleashes a lot of fire, Honchkrow dominates the air, Golduck tries to hold on with her powerful psychic attacks, and Torterra unleashes his nuke attack.
  • The battle immediately following the "final" battle as well.
• Nightmare Fuel:
  • Chapter 6 explores what happens when a human takes a medicine meant explicitly for Pokémon.
  • The Golbat are portrayed as this to everyone, especially the Pokémon living in Victory Road.
• Squick: In chapter 4, Golduck is tasked to "Water Gun" down a thirsty, fevered, and unconscious Joshua's throat, to stop his sickly heaving. The entire team is disgusted by the plan, particularly Golduck herself, although they exhausted all their other options. The way it's written makes the reader feel for their squick.
• Tear Jerker: Has a few instances of this, for an action fanfic.
  • Flareon's emotional breakdown.
  • Torterra going blind, albeit temporary.
  • The ending itself.
• The Woobie: Flareon.
