- Davis ended Gnorm Gnat as he was told by many people that insects would never be popular as subject matter. A few years later, we got The Far Side which not only became wildly popular, even to this day, but also featured insects.
- Even though The Buzz on Maggie managed to be more successful than Gnorm Gnat, its negative reception overseas resulted in its cancellation, joining Gnorm in the club of short-lived series starring cartoon insects.
