- Angst? What Angst?: Elisha is able to handle having to kill her mother with extraordinary calm and maturity, not to mention nary a tear shead.
- Fan Nickname: Ishut gets called "Yossha" by fans because of how often he yells it.
- Game-Breaker: Ishut, due to his ability to use the cheater cards.
- One-Scene Wonder: Kyra.
- Sequel Difficulty Drop: The game has been made a lot easier compared to Yggdra and Blaze. It mostly has to do with being able to use the Gloria as a mobile artillery and transport in most maps.
- Strangled by the Red String: The Ishut/Ruru and Ishut/Elisha pairings both come off as very forced; there's no real signs of actual mutual attraction until any of the endings.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: This game does not take place in the world of Ancardia, which was home to the rest of the series. In addition, the tone is completely incongruous with the other games, and there are new artists once again. Some think it's a breath of fresh air; some were less than pleased.
