• Award Bait: Dot-Marie Jones got an Emmy for this episode.
• Award Snub: Heather Morris wasn't even nominated an Emmy for the season.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Will's lesson is having a last chance before you die to say or do something. Cory Monteith's last appearance would be next episode.
• Nightmare & Fan Fic Fuel: As with most Wham Episodes, many fics emerged from this, most utilizing an actual gunman or gunmen, usually someone like Jacob Ben Israel, someone whose bullying caused them to snap.
• Tear Jerker:
  • Brittany trapped in the bathroom. The utter fear and then outright relief acted perfectly when she hears Will's voice.
  • Marley's mom not being able to get to her phone because she was hiding in the kitchen, then the texts stops and she still looks to it, fearing what might have happened to Marley for her to stop calling her. On the other side, Marley repeatedly trying to contact her mom without success, but Kitty still says that no-one would hurt Marley's mom because "everybody really likes her" even though she's the Alpha Bitch who used to pick on her mom.
