  • Awesome Music:
    • The instrumental piece the band members play for Mafuyu in the first episode is definitely ear-catching. When Mafuyu asked them to play "something cool", they delivered.
    • "Fuyu no Hanashi" from episode 9 is breathtaking.
  • Diagnosed by the Audience: It's common for fans to interpret Mafuyu as being autistic; he tends to come off as very spacey and oblivious, and he admits that he isn't very good at expressing his emotions like most people. A flashback to his childhood also shows him arranging his toys in a straight line, which has been noted by fans to be a habit that many autistic children have. It has, however, been heavily implied that the reason he's constantly spacing out is that he's seeing visions of Yuuki, following him everywhere.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: After getting rejected by Akihiko one too many times, Yayoi starts cutting her hair to "express her sorrow", a moment Played for Laughs. Later in the story, Haruki does the same thing for the same reasons, except this is Played for Drama to signify a huge rift in the relationship between Haruki and Akihiko.
  • LGBT Fanbase: In no small part thanks to having a much more rounded take on the relationship between the main characters than most works in the Yaoi Genre.
  • Moe:
    • Mafuyu is this both in-universe and out.
    • Kedama, Mafuyu's nine-month-old Pomeranian.
  • Signature Scene: The Seasons' performance in episode 9, where Mafuyu sings an absolutely heart-wrenching song depicting his feelings about Yuuki's suicide, intercut with flashbacks of their past together and their relationship.
  • The Woobie: The backstory of Mafuyu. A latchkey child whose father was very abusive, while his mother had to work long shifts. At first, his life had a glimmer of hope in the form of Yuuki, his first friend who eventually became his boyfriend. However, one (ultimately petty) argument led to Yuuki being Driven to Suicide. This shattered Mafuyu's life and left him with loads of guilt, making him incapable of moving forward up until he met Uenoyama.
