- Americans Hate Tingle: The manga doesn't seemed to earn much fans from the West due to majority of the characters being reincarnations from the Sengoku Period. Unless the readers know the central figures from that era since it's heavily adapted many times (see Jidaigeki), many Western readers don't understand on why these historical people are important.
- Awesome Art: Though CLAMP is famous for their Costume Porn and Scenery Porn, Gate 7 takes the cake. They haven't done something as beautiful since RG Veda.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: Date Masamune and Sanada Yukimura.
- Fridge Logic: If Chikahito is a walking Anti-Magic, how Hana was able to put the "bird comes home" spell on him?
- Fridge Brilliance: It seems Hana's Myouho is different from other types of magic, and Chikahito was affected because both he and Hana are "Not".
- Ho Yay: Yep, CLAMP did it again.
- Sakura and Tachibana
- Yukimura and Sasuke and Saizou and the rest of the Ten Braves.
- Sasuke and Saizou.
- Iemitsu seems to enjoy getting into Mitsunari's personal space.
