- Adorkable:
- Gary is a pretty socially awkward guy in general, frequently seen trying to come up with one liners and puns when slaying demons.
- The ransom note Fleshler left Gary including a long-winded Evil Laugh, him sighing and saying that's enough is a very silly thing for an otherwise terrifyingly sadistic monster like him to do, as is him yelling "holy guacamole" when Gary kicks open his door to rescue Janine.
- Larry, the Minion with an F in Evil human companion of Prophetess Vale, is just a cheerful, good-natured guy who doesn't care in the slightest that Vale finds him irritating and is simply just happy to help her with everything.
- Angst? What Angst?: Gary is surprisingly unbothered by the fact his new adoptive child in Season 2 is the reincarnation of the demon that murdered his fiance. One could interpret this as a sign of him learning to move on from Janine's death, as it was that event that made him so miserable for so many years.
- Anti-Climax Boss: Fleshler's built up as the final boss Gary has to kill, but he's taken out off-screen by Gary's successor. Season 2 however does rectify this somewhat by having Fleshler reborn as Gary's adoptive son.
- Cult Classic: Although probably one of the most obscure Canadian cartoons in a medium full of obscure series, Gary and His Demons was met with acclaim by the majority of those who saw it, scoring 8.1 on IMDb based on 980 user reviews.
- Ensemble Dark Horse:
- Bloody Mary is an amazingly fun and snarky character, which obviously would get her fans. Her big powers as an ancient demon only adds to it.
- Mike, the tentacle monster/porn actor. Not only is he a lovely Hooker with a Heart of Gold type of character, he is so absolutely likable he is more or less Gary's Closet Key (or at least, makes him realize he has a new kink).
- Fleshler has earned himself many fans for his Faux Affably Evil, chatty personality which makes him the epitome of Love to Hate.
- Fanfic Fuel: How Gary and Janine met and how she reacted to learning he was The Chosen One.
- Growing the Beard: While the first season was well received, the second season is universally seen as an improvement, including beefed-up animation, the introduction of many well-received new characters, and the overall well-liked new season-long plots.
- Jerkass Woobie: It's truly hard to hate Gary after watching Janine's murder.
- Ugly Cute: Baby Fleshler from Season 2.
