• Alternate Character Interpretation: Littlefinger knew or at least predicted that Joffrey would execute Ned. In the final scene, it is possible to notice that he is the only one present who does not show any surprise or fear at Joffrey's decision, while all the other characters (Cersei, Varys, Pycelle, Arya) are shocked by the situation. Alternatively, he suggested it in the first place, given his antipathy to the Starks for "stealing" Catelyn from him.
• Epileptic Trees: Ned's inaudible whisper as he is beheaded caused a lot of fans to guess what he's saying. Sean Bean said it was just a prayer, though.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Catelyn insists that Walder Frey would never harm her. This is especially harsher after the Red Wedding, where the Freys just outright murder her too as opposed to the book - where they planned to take her hostage but gave her a Mercy Kill instead.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Arya being promised to one of Walder Frey's sons when you take the first episode of Season 7 into account. She murders the entire House Frey, including a fiancé she didn't even know about!
