  • Badass Decay: The narrator sins Mortal Kombat X extensively for Quan Chi's major case of this.
    • In the same vein, when Scorpion regains his human identity and actively rejects his previous demonic persona, the narrator says that the developers are basically removing everything that made the Netherrealm Ninja a great character
  • Broken Base: On the channel's video on Metal Gear Solid, the like to dislike ratio on the video itself is nearly a 50/50 split due to how polarizing the video is among viewers. Many people hated how there were several factual errors (claiming you can't run and shoot when you actually can, Thermal Goggles being Permanently Missable while ignoring cigarettes can be used to reveal the lasers, etc.), sins being added simply because the game was under Konami's name (Konami in 2015 gained a considerable amount of backlash for their questionable decisions), or nitpicking at gameplay elements that don't affect the overall enjoyment of the story or gameplay (such as winning the rematch against Sniper Wolf with Nikita missiles instead of using the sniper rifle as intended). The other side feels that the game is still great but has flaws that simply cannot be brushed aside.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: In the Spider-Man (PS4) video, when Stan Lee makes a cameo. He cites he was at least glad to have him in there while he was still around. A few months after he made that video, Stan Lee would pass away.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In their video on Rio with Brooks Show, the opening line from the GCN narrator is "Well, welcome to Angry Birds: The Movie". Two years later, and a movie is released which is exactly that.
  • The Scrappy: To them, the new Dante from DmC: Devil May Cry is pretty much this. They take every opportunity to insult him and compare him unfavorably to his original counterpart right from the beginning; when the narrator first sees the protagonist introduce himself as New!Dante, he just inserts a cut of other video game characters laughing their heads off for 45 seconds before saying this:
Narrator: (finishes laughing) No, you're not, ASSHOLE. THIS IS DANTE!!!
(Plays 30-second clip of awesome moments from original Devil May Cry games)
Narrator: See, unlike most people, I don't give a damn about superficial differences. You are not Dante, because you do not embody the core, essential elements of who Dante was, and what made him great. And for that, you gain this game 50 sins.*ding!*
    • Invoked later in the video during the leadup to the Bob Barbas boss fight.
Dante: Hey, Bob! Put a spin on this!
Barbas: My general view of the terrorists is that they are disgusting, degrading, ghastly, sleazy, prurient and generally nauseating...
Shao Kahn: *laughs* (sins are taken off)
Raiden:(to Liu Kang) Remember Bo Rai Cho's teachings.
Narrator: Mortal Kombat Kommandment No. 8: Thou shalt not mention thy lame characters such as Bo Rai Cho—-ever. *ding!*
    • They also make it clear throughout their Mortal Kombat videos that they do not care for Stryker or Reiko in the least, calling the latter "Bootleg Shao Khan."
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Engages in this trope full force when reviewing DmC: Devil May Cry, often highlighting what the old Dante did better and saying that Vergil looks better because he still has silver hair, yet often sinning the game for using certain aspects from past games (most likely due to seeing these as failed attempts to measure up to the originals). They even put this message at the beginning of the video:
Narrator/On-Screen Text: WARNING. The following video contains many references to previous Devil May Cry games, just to show exactly how terrible this game really is. You have been advised.
    • They also heavily criticize Resident Evil 3 (Remake) for basically removing a lot of what made the original game good and heavily watering it down to the point where they feel like the game is In Name Only.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: A variation: The narrator notes that the giant angel statue in DmC: Devil May Cry would have made a good boss fight and expresses disappointment that it isn't one.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The narrator says that the Outworld Civil War in Mortal Kombat X is easily the most interesting storyline in the entire game; however, that subplot can only be fully accessed through the tie-in comics.
  • The Un-Twist:
    • In the sins video for Until Dawn, the narrator immediately knows that Josh is actually the one behind all of the traps at the lodge, as for that entire portion of the game, he's the character that's seen the least and the only one who isn't playable. There's also the fact that Josh's disturbing levels of cheer while hanging out at the lodge where his sisters went missing, on the anniversary of their disappearance, makes his instability rather obvious to the observant.
    • The narrator also isn't surprised when Metal Gear Solid reveals that Liquid Snake is masquerading as Master Miller.
    • He also isn't surprised when Atlas is revealed to be evil, and even offers reasons to show off why he's not to be trusted before the game outs him as the Big Bad.
