YMMV / Futurama S 3 E 12 The Route Of All Evil

  • Crosses the Line Twice: Hermes (who is Afro-Caribbean) announcing that, since business is down, he's going to reclassify all the workers as slaves.
    • Fry, Bender, and Leela watching a man scream about being burned to death on The Real World: The Sun—Leela simply comments that an apartment on the sun as big as the one they saw would be way too expensive.
  • Genius Bonus: One of the beers available in the store is stored in klein bottles. Exactly how that works is anyone's guess.
  • Memetic Mutation: "Accusing gentle Bender of a misdeed?! That's the last straw!"
  • Unintentional Period Piece:
    • The plot revolves entirely around Dwight and Cubert working as paperboys. As of The New '20s, a combination of child labour laws, broader concerns about child safety, and the decline of print media in the face of the Internet means that paperboys basically don't exist anymore.
    • Zima was a stock punchline during the 90's and early 2000's, but was discontinued just a few years after the episode aired (except in Japan, where it never had the same stigma). As such, Bender mockingly accusing Fry of drinking Zima is likely to be met by younger viewers with "Huh?"
