YMMV / Friday Night Funkin' Online VS.

Go To

  • Breather Level: "Unloaded" on Fucked difficulty only has harder charting with no additional gimmicks, making it much easier when compared to the rest of the Fucked songs.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Why does Girlfriend (and her speakers) get kidnapped by the FBI in the Fucked version of "Anywhere, USA"? Because she's secretly a demon, another supernatural creature that the FBI is likely interested in and doesn't want roaming the streets of the US.
  • Funny Moments:
    • A couple during "Challeng-Edd".
      • Eduardo showing up in the middle of the song on Hard prompts some very irritated reactions from the main trio. Matt in particular makes this absolutely priceless face while continuing to snap to the beat of the song.
      • Near the beginning of Tord's section in the Fucked version of the song, Boyfriend sings a section of "Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows", resulting in a short Beat as Tord gives an annoyed Death Glare before starting to launch rockets towards Boyfriend's strikeline, implying he only started firing at him and Edd because of that.
    • During "Accelerant", a fight against Hank, Tricky just has to get a word in on the song after kicking Girlfriend off the stereo. Eventually Hank turns to stare at him blankly before shooting him off the ledge and refuses to pay him any mind after that, even in Fucked difficulty where Tricky goes into his Hellclown form. After a bit has passed, Girlfriend wanders back onscreen with a hot dog, completely nonplussed at the chaos she's returned to.
    • Over the course of "Anywhere, USA", the Alien and Boyfriend progress through an actual level, with the Alien gleefully cutting down FBI Agents and Boyfriend following along singing with him because they took his and Girlfriend's ice cream as evidence. Speaking of Girlfriend, she follows along... by abruptly ending up ahead of them every time she falls behind, never moving from her stereo system even as it is also confiscated by the FBI. Even being tied to the Install Ball's suit does nothing to phase her.
      • Right at the beginning, as the FBI agents clear the debris of the Alien's spaceship, one runs by holding a sign that says "NOTHING TO SEE HERE".
  • It Was His Sled: "Challeng-Edd" involving Tord is meant as a surprise for those going through Fucked difficulty, but went everywhere after the song released due to said unexpected-ness, in addition to his part of the song being both hard as balls and immensely catchy. Ironically, this wrapped around to people only knowing Tord was there and not that he was only fought on Fucked difficulty, with Eduardo instead being fought for Hard.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: While the main draw of the game is the, well, online versus mode, many remember it mainly or even solely for the Challenges, due to their quality and faithfulness to the source material rivaling that of the original game.
  • Memetic Mutation: Well, well, well.Explanation
  • Signature Scene:
    • Even despite its lack of unique gimmicks, "Unloaded" manages to keep up in popularity with the other Challenges thanks to being a scarily-accurate Whole-Plot Reference to Mindchamber's classic Pico Unloaded animation. Especially popular is the scene of Pico gunning down Uberkids left and right while breakdancing.
    • "Challeng-Edd" is already a catchy song on its own, but one thing it famously does differently from any other FNF mod's songs is changing the song entirely depending on difficulty. If the player isn't expecting it, seeing the Tordbot rise from behind the house on Fucked difficulty can be just as surprising as it is to the characters themselves.
  • That One Level:
    • "Accelerant" on Fucked difficulty is an absolute nightmare compared to the other Challenges. The song itself is already fast enough on its own, but Fucked difficulty turns the already-bothersome health-draining bullet notes into One-Hit Kills that appear very frequently throughout the chart. Tricky's fire notes similarly turn into halo notes that get spammed throughout his part even more than the bullet notes, and when his section starts, a lever appears on the health bar that causes it to constantly drain. All of this combined can easily lead to a fatal screw-up at any moment.
    • While a far cry from "Accelerant", "Challeng-Edd" on the Fucked difficulty can still be quite difficult when Tord makes his entrance, with his One-Hit Kill rockets, large amount of notes, and powerful health drain to the point where he brings your HP down to one pretty much every verse. Further frustrating is that due to the way the game works, losing to him means replaying Edd's section just for another chance at Tord's part.
