• Hilarious in Hindsight: The cabbie that tries to kill Alex when he first arrives in 2009 drives a Checker Taxicab. In 1999, a law was passed outlawing taxicabs over ten years old. Since the last Checker taxis were made in 1982 and the one in question is a '62 model, no NYC taxis in 2009 would be a Checker model.
• Misblamed: Good Bad Flicks points out that the actors were all quick to distance themselves from the film once it flopped, stating director Geoff Murphy was more focused on the action scenes than story and character. Murphy took full responsibility for the film's failure, even though Cecil painstakingly points out it really isn't at all the director's fault, the studio actively ignored his input at every turn. Geoff Murphy's career never really took off as a result.
• One-Scene Wonder: The Eagle Man, aka the "river rat guy", who talks to Alex when he rises from the river.
