  • Adorkable: Reggie and Jake are certainly this.
  • Angst? What Angst?: The beginning of the movie has Reggie repeatedly trying to warn his flock about the oncoming Thanksgiving slaughter. While he certainly didn't like his flock (and, unfortunately, vice versa), he still cared enough not to want them to get put on someone's plate and very clearly had a crush on a few of the hens. He quickly changes his tune when he's taken off his farm and made the Pardoned Turkey for that year's Thanksgiving, and he never thinks about the farm or the implications of being pardoned again.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment:
    • Furley carving a hyper-realistic Winged Unicorn on the floor of the cage he and Amos were trapped in.
    • Jake and Ranger's dance battle that eventually turns into a dance session.
    • A minor one is where a Wampanoag man mentions Angry Birds when he sees the turkeys attacking the fort.
  • Ho Yay: Jake and Ranger. Both of them are testosterone-fueled, alpha male heroes who frequently clash over what they feel needs to be done about their goals. They repeatedly try to one-up each other with increasingly homoerotic displays of power, strength and manliness, which eventually devolves into the two of them sharing a passionate dance session that they noticeably enjoy.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • THAT'S RIGHT, WE'RE GOING BACK IN TIME TO THE FIRST THANKSGIVING TO GET TURKEYS. OFF. THE MENU."Explanation
      • This further got mutated with the release of the black comedy film The Menu, where people would jokingly comment on how the main characters succeeded in their plan because there in fact weren’t any turkeys in the movie.
    • CONTROL YOUR COCKS. Explanation
    • TOMORROW Explanation
  • Nightmare Fuel: The Battery Farm Jake was being raised at.
  • So Okay, It's Average: Despite being "the greatest turkey movie of all time", it's this at best for most people.
  • Strawman Has a Point: The colonists' motivation for the hunt is to survive the next winter. Considering the conditions at the time (and the absence of time-travelling turkeys), this is understandable.
