• Squick: The "Oh, Biology" sequence has Katherine develop a crush on Ellie's crush Adam. The fact that Katherine blames Ellie's body for this does not help.
• Tear Jerker:

  • "Today and Ev'ry Day" begins with Ellie and Katherine lamenting the idea of being trapped in each other's bodies forever, with Ellie breaking down over the realization that she's been forced into adulthood without being ready while Katherine laments that she'll have to live through the most painful parts of her teen years a second time.
  Ellie: There's this whole long life I'll never live, my college years and more!
  Katherine: And all that I'll go through again that hurt so much before...
• Unintentionally Sympathetic: Ellie surprisingly turns out to be this, considering uncared for by her Control Freak mother and various teenagers like her know how it feels to go through her pain.
• WTH, Costuming Department?: Ellie's Boyish Short Hair and flannel shirt combined with the navel piercing gives the impression that she's an archetypical lesbian. Many were somewhat confused when her Implied Love Interest turned out to be a guy.
