YMMV / Flying Swords of Dragon Gate

• Actor Allusion: Jet Li gets to deliver multiple flying kicks in the climax.
• Designated Hero: Everyone at the inn BUT the rebels is a complete bastard.
• Refuge in Audacity: In-universe when Feng impersonates Yu Huatian, and winds up smacking the palace people around. Y'know, the very folks who would gut him on the spot if they knew.
• So Okay, It's Average: The movie has some breathtaking moments but a lot of moments where things get dull or just plain confusing as to whose motivations are what.
• Moment of Awesome: The movie lives on this. It's debatable how much it lives up to this, though.
  • Feng (smalltime crook) assumes Zhou (The Hero, duh) has come to silence him and busts out every dirty trick in his book (garrotte, concealed blade, another concealed blade in his boot), but Zhou counters every thing thrown at him without batting an eyelid. Cos it's Jet Li, dammit.
