• Ensemble Dark Horse: The Laser Kiwi flag became a clear favorite in the first Flag Wars. While a dark horse competitor that received much fewer votes than flags such as Wales and the transgender flag, it swept through the competition and narrowly defeated the beloved lesbian flag. It has since remained undefeated in polls since. It is beloved due to its bizarre yet hilarious design that unironically makes a great flag. Due to this popularity, it has become the official mascot of the Flag Wars.
• Friendly Fandoms: Some followers of the account listen to the podcast Flagged for Content due to the shared focus on vexillology. The Flag for Content appeared as a competitor in the People's Flag Wars and some other polls, and the account has promoted the podcast multiple times.
• So Bad, It's Good: Many of the awful flags that appeared in the Worst Flag Wars are hilariously bad, such as Pocatello, Idaho and Brown County, Nebraska.
